Hope A. (Schwoyer) Bernhard, 93, widow of Marcus A. Bernhard, of Boyertown, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville.
Born in Upper Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Helen (Moll) Schwoyer.
Hope worked at the former Tung-Sol in Boyertown for 35 years before retiring in 1988. She was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, Montco –Berks Golden Age, the Owls, the American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of Pennsburg Golden Age.
She loved to travel by motor coach. She even coordinated many trips for family and friends through the Perkiomen Tours.
Surviving are her son, Larry G. Bernhard and wife, Mary Alice of Douglassville; grandchildren, Tracey, wife of Edwin Bigler and Jennifer, wife of Richard Fanaro; two great-grandchildren, Ed and Heather Bigler; and her sister, Elizabeth, wife of Daniel Wright.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her three brothers, William, Harvey and Robert Schwoyer; and her sister, Catherine Rotenberger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Ryan Travis officiating. A burial will follow in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
