Homer H. “JR” Salyer, III, 62, husband of Elizabeth J. “Betty” (Altenbach) Salyer, of Quakertown, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.
Born in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Johnnyee (Brock) and Homer H. Salyer, II.
He attended the former Cardinal Doughtery High School, Philadelphia. JR owned A & S Pest Inspections and was a member of Bass Pro Fishing. He loved animals and to cook.
Survivors: Wife of 22 years, children, Keith Salyer and wife, Toshie, Sasebo, Japan; Heather Salyer and fiancé, Christian Isaccs, Philadelphia, PA; and James Salyer and wife, Amanda, Glenside, PA; sister, Gina Salyer and companion, Lisa Salyer, New Egypt, NJ; 2 grandsons, Ken and Christian Salyer; nephew, Ralph Duonnolo and his kitties, Maxi, Peaches and Patches. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Sienkiewicz and nephews, Michael and John Sienkiewicz.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Deacon Thomas Murphy officiating. A visitation will be held 12 noon to 1:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
