Holmes Barr Stauffer, 85, widower of Fern R. (Wolf) Stauffer, of State Street, East Greenville, PA died October 23, 2009 at Eagleville Hospital.
Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Henry W. and Meda Mae (Barr) Stauffer.
He was an electrician at Superior Tube in Collegeville, PA for 30 years. After retiring he owned a bar, the Lynnport Hotel in New Tripoli, PA and also worked at Brown Printing.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Peace Mennonite Church.
Surviving are 3 sons, Lynn H. Stauffer of Bath, PA, Dennis R. Stauffer of Red Hill, PA and Rickie B. Stauffer of East Greenville, PA; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents he is predeceased by a brother Steward Stauffer and a sister, Elsie Kenny.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Peace Mennonite Church, 104 Main Street, East Greenville, PA with the Rev. David Benner officiating. Family and friends are invited to call 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Peace Mennonite Church, 104 Main Street, East Greenville, PA 18041.
Cremation services were handled by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
