Henry Walter Kehs, Jr., 87, loving husband of Mary Elizabeth (Seaman) Kehs of Bally, died on Sunday, September 5, 2010. He and his wife celebrated 16 years of marriage on July 16th.
Born in Barto Rural District, he was a son of Isabella (Walters) and Henry William Kehs, Sr.
He was a graduate of Boyertown High School and of Dale Carnegie Business School in Allentown.
He owned and operated Kehs Brothers’ Garage, Bally, PA for many years before retiring.
He was a devoted catholic and life-long member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally.
He was an avid train collector including his Red Reading Railroad Caboose, loved hunting, automobiles, Penn State Football Games, Philadelphia Eagles, snowmobile rides, the outdoors, Boyertown High School wrestling and even drove a school bus before owning his car dealership.
Surviving along with his wife, is a son, Robert J. Stengel, Jr. and wife Audry of Pottstown; two daughters, Sally Ann Giesinger and husband, Eugene of Reading and Mary Wenrich and husband Eric of Bally; two sisters, Angela Gehringer and Mildred Kehs both of Bally; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and God children.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen F. (Spaar) Kehs and brothers and sisters, Mary, Alma, Virgil, Raphael, Lawrence, Cyril, Herman, Marguerite and Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA 19503. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The viewing will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
