Henry A. Groff, 100, widower of Julia A. (Yedinak) Groff, of Main Street, Sumneytown, PA died on Saturday June 11, 2011 in his home.
Born in Souderton, PA, he was a son of the late Allen and Mary (Alderfer) Groff.
He was the owner and operator of Groff’s Auto Body repairing and restoring old cars and retired in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a German Interpreter. He was a member of Hatfield Hunting Camp and was a life-long member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ, Sumneytown, PA.
Surviving are daughters, Sandra, wife of the late Hatton Nee of Norfolk, VA and Carole, wife of Philip Lipschultz of Wyomissing, PA; five grandchildren, Walter, Tara, Martha, Wesley and Thomas; one great grandchild, Raines.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Frieden’s United Church of Christ, 1011 Church Rd, Sumneytown, PA with Rev. Cheryl Stoneback officiating. Interment is in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the church.
