Harvey F. Gaugler, 84, of Barto, PA, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was the husband of the Loretta J. (Wlock) Gaugler celebrating 61 years of marriage on December 29, 2016.
Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Harvey A. and Bessie (Leh) Gaugler.
He was in the concrete business for 42 years and owned his own business, Harvey F. Gaugler Concrete for 22 years.
He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army.
Harvey was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, the first Treasurer of the Upper Perkiomen Takedown Club and was a member of the American Legion Post 184 in East Greenville where he bowled with his wife.
Harvey was a 1951 graduate of Pennsburg High School where he was the President of his Senior Class. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Surviving along with his wife, are four children, Harvey M. Gaugler of Barto, Greg S. Gaugler and wife, Carol of Stowe, Ken W. Gaugler and wife, April of Pennsburg and Karen L. Onushco and husband, Jim of Macungie; two sisters, Geraldine Fry of Columbus, OH and Gail Gibson of Barto; 7 grandchildren, Jenn, Tammy, Daniel, Jarred, Ryan, Dylan and Erin, and 10 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Gary Gaugler.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with the Rev.
