Harrison A. Pirnik, 74, husband of Jean R. (Anderson) Pirnik, of East Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at home.
Born in Perkasie, he was a son of the late Louis and Myrtle (Heimbach) Pirnik.
He served in the United States Air Force, state side, during Vietnam.
Harrison served as a police officer for 6 years in the Pennsburg and East Greenville areas. He later worked in construction as a self-employed general contractor before he began working with wood and discovering his true passion. Harrison was a juried craftsman for his artisan skills in wood working and wood carving. After retiring, he worked at Ace Hardware in Pennsburg.
He was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ of East Greenville and the Pine Brook Poker Club. Harrison was an avid reader.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 33 years, are five children, Steven Pirnik of Lansdale; Gregory Pirnik and wife, Vicki of Whitehall; Jason Pirnik and wife, Aimee of East Greenville; James “Jimmy” Moore and wife, Kira of Palm and Whitney Pirnik of Bethlehem; a fur-child, Cash; a sister, Vicki, and husband, Paul Shellaway of East Greenville and three grandchildren, Devon, Meagan and Erik Pirnik.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 7:30pm, on Monday, January 18, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
