Grace Vivian (Hillegass) Schantz, 93, died August 7, at the Lutheran Home, Topton. She was the widow of Frederick M. Schantz.
Grace was born, on November 6, 1919 to Marvin and Alverda (Haring) Hillegass of East Greenville, where she lived her life
Before becoming a full-time homemaker, Grace was an office manager at Rosenau Brother’s dress manufacturing. Much later she again became a secretary, this time at the Upper Perkiomen High School, until retirement.
She was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen UCC and was affiliated with both the East Greenville Fire Co. Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Of late she enjoyed reading, solving word searches, and scratching tickets.
She is survived by son Dr. Tom Schantz of Fleetwood.
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 12, at 10 am at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Share words of comfort at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
