Grace L. (Smoll) Rader Bauman, 97, wife of the late John E. Rader and Alton R. Bauman, of Souderton and formerly of Pennsburg, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Souderton Mennonite Community.
Born in Red Hill, she was a daughter of the late Robert C. and Sallie (Brey) Smoll.
Grace was a graduate of Pennsburg High School and worked as an Accounts Payable Supervisor for 30 years before retiring in 1980 from Ford Motor Co. in Lansdale.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, where she was a Sunday School teacher, sang on the choir and served on the church council.
Grace was a 50 year member and Past Matron of Perkiomen Chapter #318 Order of the Eastern Star; she served as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, was a member of the Perkiomen Valley Women’s Club for 25 years, the Upper Perk Seniors Center, a former member of the Upper Perk BPW, the Upper Perk Choral Arts Society and was on the Board of Directors of Life Long Learning in East Greenville.
Surviving are her two children, John Barton Rader and wife, Regina of Millsboro, DE and Janet E., wife of Robert Zylinski of East Norriton; 6 grandchildren, Sherri, Todd, Stephani, Victoria, Donald and Kimberly and 13 Great-Grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by siblings, Clarence, Willard, Donald and Floyd Smoll and Iva Mae Kemmerer.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Road, Red Hill, PA 18076. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday at the church and an Order of the Eastern Star Funeral Service at 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
