Gloria Teresa Holtje, 87, of Quakertown, and formerly of Red Hill, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, November 8 at Quakertown Center. She was the widow of Howard Holtje, Sr. They were married for 46 years.
Born and grew up in Fort Lee, NJ; she later raised her family with Howard, Sr. in Dumont, NJ and retired to Barnegat, NJ before moving to PA.
She was an honored employee of Fotomat for many years and a member of the Dumont Fire Co. Auxiliary. Most recently she attended Community Bible Fellowship Church in Red Hill.
Gloria loved music and played piano and sang alto. She enjoyed doing all kinds of needlework, making afghans for others, reading and eating her ice cream. But most precious to her were her Savior, Jesus, and her family. Gloria cared for those who were in need, even at times having them stay at her home.
Surviving are three children: Holly Mann and husband, Stan, of Asbury Park, NJ, Howard Holtje and wife, Marie, of East Greenville, PA and Tom Holtje and wife, Doreen, of Flagstaff, AZ; nine grandchildren: Dan, Ben, Luke, John, Joe, Jim, Gloria, Mary and Libby; and two great-grandchildren, Baru and Jalen. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Weaver, and many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Gloria was predeceased by siblings: Edna Becker, Charlie Colombo and Arthur Colombo.
A graveside funeral service and interment will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.
