Gloria M. (Prussack) Heckler, 82, widow of C. Gordon Heckler, of East Greenville, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Pennsburg.
Born in Upper Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Huldah (Smith) Prussack.
She was a production worker at the former Plummer Precision Optics for many years before retiring. Prior to that she worked at the former Pennsburg Pants Factory. After retiring she worked part-time at Marlborough Elementary School.
She was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where she had served as a Greeter. She was also a member of the East Greenville Fire Company where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and an avid bowler. She also loved to travel.
Gloria is survived by three children, Deborah, wife of Kyle Gaither of Macungie; Michael Heckler and wife, Teresa of Pennsburg and Lisa Martin, companion of John Hines of Pennsburg; a brother, William Prussack and wife, Joan of Boyertown; eight grandchildren, Amie, Andrew, Angela, Thomas, Shane, Tiffany, Ashlee and Aaron; and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
