Glenna Fulmer

Glenna R. (Schultz) Fulmer, 84, of Mifflin, PA and formerly of Lansdale, Boyertown and Millersville died Friday, August 10, 2012 in her home

Born in Boyertown, she was a daughter of the late J. Willis and Jennie M. (Kuhns) Schultz.

In her earlier years Glenna taught and coached at Manor-Millersville High School from 1950 to 1955 and taught at the former Schwenksville Joint High School for almost two years. After retiring from teaching she was a full-time mother, homemaker, farmer, quilter, gardener, and at one point returned to Penn State to further her education. In her later years she had various work experiences including working as a File Clerk with the Colon and Rectal Association, retiring in 1998; following this she worked with Willow Grove Bank in the check processing and deposit services center departments, retiring in 2001. She was also actively involved with her children and grandchildren and with their activities, attending numerous field hockey, softball, baseball, and soccer games, as well as concerts, ceremonies, and plays. She was an active member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church where she enjoyed quilting with the Ladies’ Aide Society of the Church and was a former member of the United Schwenkfelder Choir in Worcester. She also attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nook and was currently attending the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mifflintown.

Glenna was extremely creative and always had several projects going at one time as she was a quilter, knitter, calligrapher, and cross-stitcher. She loved to cook and bake and was also still involved with the writing of the “In Retrospect” for the Schwenkfeldian. Glenna was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State fan.

Surviving are a son, Jeffrey A. Fulmer and wife, Christine of Cedarville, OH; two daughters, Kathy Jo Therriault and husband Cary of Bellevue, WA and Sharon J. Fulmer-Storey of Mifflin, PA; a sister Marian Fox and husband, Earl of Silver Spring, MD; six grandchildren, Jedidiah, Sierrah and Noah Fulmer, Jon Henry and Marissa Therriault and Luke Storey; and father and grandfather of her family is Henry S. Fulmer, Jr. of Conifer, CO. She is also loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Lester K. Schultz and Willard K. Schultz; four sisters, Elsie M. Krause, Florence C. Schultz, Gladys L. Dochney and Jean D. Rothenberger.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike (Rt. 29), Palm, PA 18070 with the Rev. Rebecca Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing at the church from 10:00 to 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville.
