Gerard M. Fronheiser, 82, husband of Clara (Leanch) Fronheiser, of Barto, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
Born in Barto, he was a son of the late Ralph and Marion (Melcher) Fronheiser.
He was a high school graduate of Central Catholic High School of Allentown. After high school, he worked for several years as a carpenter, and then worked as a machine operator for Dana Corp, Pottstown and after retiring he went back into carpentry.
He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bally.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Gerard enjoyed hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years in April, are his children, Stephen N. Fronheiser of Barto; Gerard M. Fronheiser, Jr. of Barto; and Linda M. Hicks of Collegeville; siblings, James Fronheiser and wife, Rosemarie of Barto; Theresa Fronheiser of Allentown and Rosemary, wife of Howard Scavelli of Florida; one granddaughter, Charlotte Cody. He was predeceased by siblings, Helen Marie, Aloysius and Ralph Fronheiser, Agnes Hayes and Maryann Gehringer,
A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA with Rev. Andrew Gehringer officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 am Monday at the church. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
