Gerald G. Wadsworth, 79, husband of Jean D. (Daly) Wadsworth, of Zieglerville, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Obelisk, he was a son of the late Darwin and Etta (Little) Wadsworth.
Gerald was a graduate of East Greenville High School. He then served in the National Guard for six years and was a self-employed building contractor for 28 years.
He was an active member of Peace in Zion United Church of Christ, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife of 56 years, are two children, Dr. Gary G. Wadsworth and wife, Barbara of Clarks Summit, and Linda Wadsworth Cuesta, wife of Jeffery of Douglassville; a sister, Marian, wife of Dr. H. Russell Bernd of Salford, and five grandchildren, Drs. Kurtis and Philip Wadsworth, and Cassandra, Hillary and Alyssa Cuesta. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Darvin and Charles Wadsworth and a sister, Ruth Bechtel.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Peace in Zion UCC, 204 Big Road, Zieglerville with Rev. Barbara Pence officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, Obelisk. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville.
