Georgette L. (Foster) Reinford, 78, widow of Charles L. Reinford, of Upper Perkiomen Manor, Red Hill and formerly of Sumneytown, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Grand View Hospital.
Born in Sumneytown, she was a daughter of the late George and Ada (Fulk) Foster.
She was a seamstress at the former Sumneytown Pants Factory then ran a small daycare in her home for many years before retiring in 1993 helping to raise many children in the community.
She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sumneytown and was a Den Mother for Cub Scout Troop #314, a member of the VFW Post #5954 in Red Hill, and volunteered for the Green Lane and Red Hill Fire Companies and for social events at Upper Perkiomen Manor. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her four children, Sandra F., wife of Richard L. Devine of Perkiomenville, Charles L. Reinford, Jr. and wife, Kelly of Pennsburg, Debra G., wife of Harold Durham of Douglassville and Troy T. Reinford and wife, Sarah of Quakertown; 11 grandchildren, Lori, Jessie, Jennifer, Susan, Meagan, Tiffany, Joel, Zachary, Paige and Triston and 5 great grandchildren, Liam, Ashley, Hayden, Cristian and Adalynne. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by 2 brothers and a sister.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Susan Lynch officiating. Interment follows in Frieden’s Union Cemetery, Sumneytown. Family and friends are invited to a viewing 6:30 to 8: p.m. on Tuesday evening and also from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
