George A. Sadorf, 84, of Green Lane, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at The Quakertown Center. He was the husband of Cleta (Moyer) Sadorf celebrating 60 years of marriage on December 12, 2009.
Born in Green Lane, he was a son of the late Anton and Emma A. (Ferketich) Sadorf.
He was a Woodcrafter at Knoll in East Greenville for 35 years retiring in 2006. Prior to that he worked at Stokes Manufacturing in Pennsburg for 25 years.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving as a Seaman 1st Class in the European Theatre during World War II and earning 3 Battle Stars.
He loved the outdoors, watching the Phillies and seeing his friends and loved ones.
Surviving along with his wife are 2 children, Kerry A. “Snork” Sadorf and his wife, Eleanor of Green Lane and Donna L. (Sadorf) Fleck of Pennsburg; a brother, August Sadorf and his wife, Mary of Cape May Court House, NJ; 3 sisters, Catherine Koestel and her husband, Robert of Reading, Helen Toth of Philadelphia and Christina Ledger and her husband, Gene of Morrisville and 5 grandchildren, Lisa Sadorf, Wendy Sadorf, Angie Yanocha, Aimee Fleck and Bradley Fleck. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Karen Ann Steinman in 1997; a grandson, Michael Steinman in 2007 and 5 brothers and a sister.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with the Rev. Cheryl A. Stoneback, Pastor of Frieden’s United Church of Christ, Sumneytown officiating. Interment will follow in Frieden’s Union Cemetery.
