Quakertown

George Moll, Jr., 96, peacefully passed away on October 1, 2024, at Independence Court in Quakertown. Born in Pennsburg on June 12, 1928, George was the son of the late George Moll, Sr. and Mabel (Kulp) Moll.

George spent 22 years as a foreman in the clothing shop at Graterford State Correctional Institute before his well-deserved retirement. Before his time at Graterford, he worked at various establishments such as Boyertown Casket Co., Superior Tube, and Red Hill Clothing Factory. His dedication to his profession was evident to all who worked alongside him.

Throughout his life, George was a lifetime member of the New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and also a lifetime member of the Red Hill and Green Lane Fire Companies. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and New York Yankees. In his leisure time, George enjoyed the simple pleasures like watching Westerns on TV, engaging in friendly games of Pinochle with his beloved wife Ruth and family, and enjoyed sitting on back patio with his beloved dog, Sky. In his younger years, he found joy playing softball for the Eagle AA Team.

A family man at heart, George was married to Ruth K. (Detweiler) Moll for 72 years until her passing in 2020. He is now survived by his daughter, Vicki Nyce; grandson Robert "Bobby" Prinz; great-granddaughter, Nicole Prinz; sister, Dorothy Kulp; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family, Amanda Capaldi and Howard Reichert, each of whom he cared for deeply and whose lives were forever influenced by his presence.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a daughter, Donna Prinz; twin grandsons, James Douglas and Craig Douglas Behney; and a brother, Roy Moll.

George will be laid to rest privately at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home. You may offer condolences and share memories by visiting www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
