George F. Gest, 75, of Pennsburg, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his home. He formerly was a resident of Hunterdon County for 48 years. He was the husband of Mary A. (Neville) Gest, sharing 54 years of marriage together. Born in Pratt, Kansas, he was the son of the late Thomas and Emma (Gundaker) Gest.
George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years before being honorably discharged. He then went on to become an Engineer for various telecommunication companies, retiring in 2011.
He was a member of Grace Gospel Chapel of Plumsteadville. George had a very giving heart and offered his time doing volunteer work at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Hospice and as a literacy counselor for the Hunterdon Adult Education Classes.
George was like a father and brother to many and in addition to his wife will be missed by his sister, Lorraine Gest Frasier and husband Barry Werling; four sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
