Frederick Wilson Scheirer, Jr., 77, husband of the late Phyllis Ann (Weikel) Scheirer, of Barto, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Life Quest Nursing Center.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Miriam H. (Stofflett) and Frederick Wilson Scheirer, Sr.
He was a graduate of Northampton High School and worked as an inspector for Mack Truck of Macungie, retiring in 1993. Frederick was an avid guitar player in his younger years
He was a member of Green Lane Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and was part of the Northampton Boy Scouts many years ago.
Frederick served 8 ½ years in the United States Navy.
Surviving are his children, Douglas A. Scheirer of Allentown; Brian S. Scheirer and wife, Heather of Palmerton; and Lori Ann Scheirer of Allentown; a sister, Jean Dorner of Whitehall; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and a step-son, Tim Heidelmark of Allentown. Along with his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Nonnemacher.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Randy Lorish officiating.
