Freda B. Zettlemoyer, 94, of Milford Twp., and formerly of Reading, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at LifeQuest Nursing Home, Quakertown, PA.
Freda was born in Salladasburg, PA to the late Rev. Ivan Sr. and Freda P. (Webster) Moyer. She graduated from Glen Rock High School and earned a B.A. in Home Economics from Albright College. Freda’s career included instructor and nutritionist positions with UGI Corporation and the Berks County Intermediate Unit, and included groundbreaking televised cooking shows from the Korvettes department store in Muhlenberg Township in the 1950s.
After retiring in 1995, Freda travelled extensively with family and friends, while also maintaining long-standing connections to Berks County Home Economics activities, Holy Cross United Methodist Church, and Albright College.
She is survived by her children: Mark D. Zettlemoyer and his wife Gloria Vila, of Springfield, VA; and Kay E. Emmons and husband Hoyt, of Pennsburg. Other surviving family members include sister Phyllis Millard, widow of R. Clark, of York, PA, and grandchildren: Hoyt Emmons II, Marissa Emmons, Meredith Zettlemoyer and husband Michael Muzyka; Mercedes Zettlemoyer, and Emma Zettlemoyer.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
