Fred Schweizerhof

Fred W. Schweizerhof, Sr., 74, of Pennsburg; passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Doris M. (Pennel) Schweizerhof celebrating 51 years of marriage in August.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John W. and Marie (Platt) Schweizerhof.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for Penn Builders in Quakertown for many years retiring in 2007. He also owned and operated Perkiomen Creek Taxidermy for many years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving along with his wife are four sons, Fred W. Schweizerhof and wife, Melissa of Pennsburg, Jacob C. Schweizerhof and wife, Debra of Perkiomenville, Aaron L. Schweizerhof and wife, Evelitsa of Springfield, VA and John W. Schweizerhof and fiancée, Carrin of Zionsville; siblings, Barbara Smith of New Castle, Irene, wife of Emery Harless of Bonifay, FL, Karen Topel of Warrington, Cynthia Hamilton of North Wales and John Schweizerhof of North Wales; six grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and a great grandchild. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Daniel.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. The funeral service will be private followed by a private committal in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
