Frank Buza

Frank E. Buza, retired Marlborough Township Police Lieutenant, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his home at 75 years old. He was the loving husband of Phyllis J. (Fluck) Buza, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage.

Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Albina (Huda) Buza.

He was a graduate of Scranton High and served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.

Lieutenant Buza started with the Marlborough Township Police Department as a parttime police officer on August 27, 1974, moving to fulltime on May 19, 1975. During Lieutenant Buza’s 35 dedicated years with the Police Department, he has held the rank of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Chief. He also served as the Department’s firearm instructor and Fraternal Order of Police’s Department Director. Lieutenant Buza was a staple around the Department, Township, the entire Upper Perkiomen Community and was respected by many.

He was a member of Montgomery FOP Lodge 14, Montgomery County Police Chiefs Association, the Red Hill VFW 5954, American Legion Post 184 in Palm, and St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children, Tarra Duffy and husband, Fitz, Cristine Hatch, Tracy Martinelli and husband, George, Brian Moyer and Paul Moyer and wife, Jodi; 12 grandchildren, Madalyn, Addie Lynn, Max, Angelica, Stephanie, Daniel, Cassie, Justin, Ashlie, Shannon, John and Mitchell; 14 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dennis Buza and wife, Edie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a burial to follow in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pennsburg, PA. Family and friends may greet the family from 9 to 10:45 AM prior to the service.
