Florence S. (Schertel) Giangiacomo, 83, of Bally, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at home.
Born in Barto, she was a daughter of the late George and Marie (Henry) Schertel.
She was a Practical Nurse starting at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center and later became a private nurse.
She was a lifelong member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bally. Florence loved gardening, fishing, camping, traveling, cooking, her family and Grandchildren, and her pet Goose.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Leo A. Giangiacomo and his wife, Kathleen R. of Casper, WY; Paul E. Giangiacomo and his wife, Leslie A. of Barto; Andrew G. Giangiacomo and his wife, Sherry L. of Fleetwood; and a daughter; Margaret A., wife of Keith J. Masemore of Barto; brothers, Alphonsus Schertel of Barto and Mark Schertel of New Tripoli; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by siblings, Margaret, Andrew and Joseph Schertel.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Barto, PA with Reverend Richard Brensinger officiating. There will be a viewing and a Rosary from 10:00 am until 10:45 am Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
