Fern J. Huber, 89, of Christ Home, Warminster, PA and formerly of East Greenville, PA died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus C. and Matilda (Althouse) Huber.
She worked at Bell Telephone Company from 1943 to 1948, Evangelical Orphanage as a housemother form 1948 to 1950, Missionary in Olive Hill Kentucky from 1950 to 1956 which was a mission school to children in Carter County, Kentucky and then finished her career at Bell Telephone Company from 1956 to 1982 and retired. She attended services at Christ Home, Warminster, PA where she had recently been living. She graduated from East Greenville High School in 1940 and from Philadelphia School of the Bible in 1948. She Volunteered at Cedarbrook County Home from 1982 to 1992. She loved playing the piano, working on puzzles, supported over seas missionary trips and was a very caring and generous person to everyone.
Surviving are three nephews, Barry L. Brensinger and wife, Caryl of Manchester, NH, Terry L. Brensinger and wife, Debra of Mechanicsburg, PA and Charlie “Chick” Huber and wife, Diane of Mt. Laurel, NJ; a niece, Joan Torello and husband, Peter of Blue Bell, PA.
Along with her parents she was predeceased by two sisters, the late Dorothy M. (Huber) Yeakel and the late Vivian E. Huber; a brother, the late Henry Huber; a niece, the late Carol Brensinger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church, 6440 Powder Valley Road, Zionsville, PA 18092. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:00 A.M. to 11: A.M. Wednesday in the church. Contributions may be made in her memory to Christ Home, 1220 West Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974.
