Esther L. Kline
Esther L. (Schmoyer) Kline, 93, widow of Francis C. Kline, formerly
of 3rd Street, East Greenville and Independence Court, Quakertown,
passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Life Quest Nursing Center,
Quakertown.
Born in East Greenville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles
B. and Amy B. (Gerhart) Schmoyer.
She was a seamstress at the former Pennsburg Clothing Factory
for 22 years.
She was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and was a member of the Ladies of the Golden Eagle, the Owl’s Nest #1304 Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer for the Girl Scouts, and Golden Age Club, where she enjoyed traveling with friends.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Bonita “Bonnie” Christman of East Greenville, Peggy, wife of Roger Frank of The Villages, FL. and Penny, wife of Richard “Rick” Whitcomb of East Greenville; 9 grandchildren, Guy, Jay and Stefanie Christman, Craig Frank, Paige Oelschlager, Tara Powell, Andrew and Benjamin Whitcomb and Amy Hangey and 14 great grandchildren, Tommy, Ty, Kayla, Leah, Joshua, Zachary, Paul, Lori, Kierston, Julius, Nathan, Anthony, Julia Rose and Jared. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by 4 brothers, Raymond, Paul, James and Robert Schmoyer.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville with the Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at church prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ Sunday School Fund, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041.
