Esther G. Funk, 92, formerly of Red Hill, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Dock Woods, Lansdale.
Born in Pennsburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late John K. and Bertha (Gressley) Funk.
She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church, Quakertown and a former longtime member of the Palm Schwenkfelder Church.
Esther was a 1938 Graduate of East Greenville High School. She continued her education at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Philadelphia, now the Albert Einstein Medical Center, where she graduated in 1947 as a Registered Nurse working there for 40 years before retiring.
Surviving are two sisters, Mary Irene Sutcliffe and husband, Gregory of Barto and Elizabeth Pope of Albany, NY. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, John Funk and a sister, Doris M. Kenderdine.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Providence Presbyterian Church, 2200 Krammes Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 with Rev. Mel Farrar officiating. The burial is private in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery.
