Eric J. Thompson, 48, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy E. (Rogers) Thompson celebrating 27 years of marriage in August.
Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late James E. and Patricia Ann (Stevens) Thompson.
He was a 1983 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and a 1985 graduate of Allentown Business School with an Associates Degree in Accounting. He then became a self-employed contractor and the owner of Thompson Associates for the past 28 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Red Hill.
He was a 32 Degree Mason and Past Master of Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&AM in Red Hill, a member of the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown and the Rajah Shrine in Reading and earned the USCG Charter Boat Captains Credentials. He was also a member of the Red Hill Hunting Camp and loved fishing, hunting, sports and golfing.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, two children, Benjamin J. Thompson and Lindsey N. Thompson, all of Perkiomenville; a brother, Jeff S. Thompson and his wife, Amber L. of Pennsburg and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. William A. Vanderslice officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening with a Masonic Funeral Service at 7 p.m. and also from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the church prior to the funeral.
