Emily Michelle Shoemaker, 18, of Allentown, went to dance with Jesus on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Ricky R. and Cynthia G. (Reiss) Shoemaker.
She was a proud 2011 graduate of Salisbury High School and a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Allentown where she was an avid member of the High School Youth Group of the Church. She had worked for the past year at the Chick-Fil-A in Trexlertown. One of her favorite pastimes was crocheting, especially afghans, for family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her parents; her paternal grandparents, Ronald G. and Marlene K. (Houseknecht) Shoemaker of Macungie and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Esther M. (Slonaker) and Ralph N. “Lefty” Reiss.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 6528 Hamilton Boulevard, Allentown with Rev. Joe Henseler, Pastor of the church officiating. Family and friends are invited to a calling time from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the memorial service.
