Ella Mae (Long) Underkoffler, 84, wife of Marvin Underkoffler, of Harleysville, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Quakertown Center.
Born in Green Lane, she was a daughter of the late Ephraim and Florence (Bishop) Long.
She was a graduate of East Greenville High School.
Ella Mae was a member of Frieden’s Church in Sumneytown. Among her favorite things in life included: cooking, baking, collecting recipes, sewing, gardening, playing bingo, writing bible verses, and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She loved Marvin and her family and encouraged kindness, forgiveness, and love.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years, are two sons, Terry Underkoffler and his wife, Theresa, of Ocean City, MD and Larry Underkoffler and his wife, Patricia, of Emmaus; three brothers, Ephraim Long and his wife, Ann, of Pennsburg; Richard Long and his wife, Grace, of Red Hill, and Ronald Long and his wife, Shirley, of Woxall, PA; one sister-in-law, Hope Long of Green Lane; four grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, LeRoy Long.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Frieden’s United Church of Christ, 1011 Church Road, Sumneytown, PA 18084 with Rev. Dr. Marianne Unger officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the church, prior to the service.
