Elizabeth Rose (McDermott) “Betty” Walsh was born in Mount Ephraim, New Jersey on June 4, 1932 and died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
Betty was dedicated to her Catholic faith and had an unwavering trust in God and she also had a very strong devotion to The Blessed Mother. Her life’s vocation was devoted to her husband John and their eight children.
She was a faithful member and attended Mass with her husband at both Saint Jude’s, in Eddystone, PA, and Most Blessed Sacrament, in Bally PA.
Betty was pre-deceased by her parents Joseph and Cora (Severance) McDermott, her brother, Joseph “Joe” McDermott, her sister in law, Margurite Walsh, her brother in law, Stanley Karminski, as well as John and Betty’s child, Linda Marie Walsh.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John Reynolds Walsh, her children and their spouses; Thomas Walsh, Theresa & John Prykowski, John & Bridget Walsh, James & Terri Walsh, Joseph & Lynne Walsh, Daniel & Michele Walsh, Michael & Deborah Walsh, Patrick & Chia-Ling Walsh, her thirty two grandchildren, their spouses, eight great grandchildren, her extended family including Sumorry Alpha, Rose McAdams-Walsh, Sharon Cook and Candy Talbot Walsh, her brother in law, Daniel J. Walsh and sister in law, Margaret Karminski as well as her two sisters and their spouses Doris & Clinton Matlack and Mary Ellen & John Coyle.
Family and friends will be received at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 for the viewing on Friday, January 23, 2015 beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Requiem Mass at 12 Noon officiated by Father Patrick Crane.
