Elizabeth “Betty” (Moser) Schantzenbach, 96, widow of Earl R. Schantzenbach and companion of the late Louis G. Stecker, formerly of Seminary Street, Pennsburg, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Peter Becker Community.
Born in Vernfield, PA, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Priscilla (Young) Moser.
She was employed as a seamstress at the former Pennsburg Clothing Company for 27 years retiring in 1972. She was formerly employed at Fellman’s Pants Factory in Vernfield and Rosenau Manufacturing Company in Red Hill.
She was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and a life member of Perkiomen Chapter #318 Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hill. She was also a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center, Harleysville Senior Center, Souderton Senior Center, Golden Agers in Pennsburg, and Young at Heart Senior Club in Oblisk.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Hafler and Miriam Barndt and a brother, Russell Moser, all of the Peter Becker Community in Harleysville.
Along with her husband, companion and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Sell.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA. Interment will follow in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery, East Greenville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Peter Becker Community Chapel.
