Eilene Miriam (Morrison) Schofer, 73, of Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of David W. Schofer, celebrating 47 years of marriage in June.
Born in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Riddell) Morrison.
She was a 1958 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School then did her nurses training at Northeast Hospital. She worked at Quakertown Hospital for several years before raising her family.
Eilene attended First Baptist Church, Bethlehem and also had been a longtime member of Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church, Bethlehem and the former Ebenezer E.C. Church, East Greenville. She loved knitting, genealogy and supporting her children and grandchildren in their musical and school activities.
Surviving along with her husband are four children, Daniel P. Schofer and wife, Maria of Gaithersburg, MD; Stephen M. Schofer of Red Hill and companion, Michele D. Kline of Green Lane, Lori Jean Schofer-Newman of Bethlehem and Christine M., wife of Kevin Gormley of Montgomery Village, MD; a brother, Howard Morrison of New South Wales, Australia; eight grandchildren, Hannah, Rachel and Benjamin Newman; Haaken, Amanda and Gunnar Schofer; Arden and Elliot Gormley; and 10 nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 3235 Linden Street, Bethlehem PA 18017 with Rev. Dale Miller officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 until 11 am at church. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Cemetery in Zionsville.
