Edwin Allen Miller, 73, of Red Hill, husband of Rita M. (Ebert) Miller, died peacefully in his sleep on September 8th 2016 in Red Hill.
Ed was born on Sept 11th 1942 in Ashland, Pa to the late Allen Edwin Lewis and Grace (Miller) Geist.
He graduated from Tri-Valley High School in 1960 and enlisted in the Navy. He married Rita Ebert, his high school sweetheart on May 12th 1962. Ed left the Navy in September of 1963 and moved his family to Pottstown, Pa where he began working at Firestone Tire Company and Ed and Rita set about raising their family. In 1984, Ed accepted a job at Bally Block and worked there until his retirement in 2004. His last and favorite job, a delivery driver for Masser’s produce, in Klingerstown, Pa completed his working career.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking in his younger years and in recent years, he enjoyed family game nights, reading books in his favorite recliner and all manner of sweets. His family will remember “PAP”, as he was now known, as a kind and gentle man.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Georgine, wife of Bob Burg of East Greenville, Kelly, wife of George Day of Red Hill and Edwin Miller II and wife, Tara of Little Rock, AR; a brother, Frank Geist of Allentown; grandchildren, Echo Miller, Eden Miller, Kendra Day, Erin Lynn, Zachary Burg and Taylor Miller; and great-grandchildren, Issac Schoenly, Marc Miller, Christopher Segear, Noah Segear and Alexander Trimble.
Ed was a humble and unassuming man and in accordance with his wishes he will be cremated in a private service.
