Edwin Liedike

October 15, 1926 — April 21, 2015

Edwin J. Liedike, 88, husband of Joan V. (Murray) Liedike, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at home.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late George C. and Mary (Gaughan) Liedike.

He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School of Philadelphia and after graduation attended art school for 2 years. Edwin was a part of the Advertising Art Students League.

He worked for many years at the former Sears Roebuck & Co. as an Operating/Planning Coordinator for the Eastern Territory.

Edwin served in the United States Army during WWII.

He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church of Pennsburg.

Edwin loved being a musician. He played the drums, piano and keyboard in his band and enjoyed wood working.

Edwin volunteered at Frederick Living where he played the organ for over 10 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years are four children, Patricia, wife of Nicholas Tosi of Blue Bell; Charles Liedike and wife, Carol of West Chester; Teresa, wife of Mark Sands of Lafayette Hill and Christine, wife of Anthony Vattimo of Zionsville; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Robert Liedike.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 27, 2015 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross cemetery in Pennsburg. There will be a viewing from 10 am until 11 am on Monday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
