Edna L. (Gerhart) Cope, 97, widow of Clarence S. Cope, of Hereford, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Pennsburg Manor.
Born in Perkiomenville, she was a daughter of the late Amandus and Emma (Slonaker) Gerhart.
Edna worked as a production worker for many years, prior to retiring from the Columbia Tape in Red Hill.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg.
Surviving are three sons, Donald R. Cope of Greentown, PA; Kenneth W. Cope and wife, Theresa of Red Hill; and Terry L. Cope of Hereford; a sister, Emma Stull of Harleysville; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Cope and a sister, Esther Schmoyer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Charles E. Romanowski officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Goshenhoppen Cemetery, Woxall. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
