Dorothy P. (Furlong) Raab, 69, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Michael J. Raab celebrating 48 years of marriage on May 21, 2014.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Mildred (Gibson) Furlong.
She was a longtime member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was a talented amateur painter who took great joy in painting wild birds and caring for the deer on their property. Of course nothing was done until her hair and makeup were perfect. And it always was!
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed by her husband; two daughters, Cynthia, wife of Jeffrey Dougherty of Montgomeryville and Stephanie Raab of Boyertown; her sister, Virginia, wife of George Kline of Bensalem and five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Daniel and Megan Dougherty, Vincent Giangiulio and Jessica Raab.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. There is no calling hour. The family will greet relatives and friends at the luncheon immediately following the burial. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com
