Dorothy C. Mescall, 89, formerly of Lansdowne, Drexel Hill, and Oxford, PA, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Milford Township.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Smith) Hunt.
For many years she worked as a dental assistant and office manager in a two-dentist practice in Lansdowne. After retiring, she worked as a school crossing guard in Drexel Hill and later in Oxford, volunteered at senior centers in Drexel Hill and Oxford, and was a life-long, devoted Catholic. She enjoyed making and beautifully decorating cakes, and she always had craft projects underway, making keepsake Christmas decorations and ornaments for friends and family.
Surviving are children, Dorothy C. Terhune and husband, Philip of Red Hill, Mary Parke and husband, George of West Chester, Margaret Harvey and husband, James of Oxford, and Francis J. Mescall of Morgantown; a brother, William Reineck and wife, Clara of Boothwyn; five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.
