Doris Iman

November 2, 1936 — January 30, 2015

Doris Elaine (Fulton) Iman, 78, wife of Jackson “Jack” W. Iman, of Zionsville and formerly of East Greenville, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.

Born on November 2, 1936 in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late S. Marvin and Elmira (Ralston) Fulton.

Doris was raised in Phoenixville with her brother, Kenneth; graduating in 1954 from Phoenixville High School, marrying Jack, a year later.

During her lifetime she worked in various secretarial positions at Phoenixville Hospital, the Office of Dr. C. Fremont Hall, Phoenixville and most recently in the office of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, where she was also a member, until retiring in 1994.

She was involved in a number of charitable organizations including the Lehigh Valley Hospital Ladies Auxiliary volunteering in the Pastoral Care Department and was also a volunteer at the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center.

She was a member of New Goshenhoppen UCC and at various times had been a member of the church choir, a Deacon on Consistory, a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher and a member of the Friendship and Eldercare Committees and the Women’s Fellowship of the church. She was also a member of Lt. Matthew Smith NSDAR where she had served as the Recording Secretary for many years.

Surviving along with her husband of 59 years, are three children, Susan, wife of Robin Bartholomew of New Church, VA, James Iman and wife, Robin of Pennsburg and David Iman and wife, Kris of Zionsville; a brother, Kenneth Fulton and wife, Nancy of Phoenixville; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Curtis, Derek, Melissa, Kristi, Jodi and Shane and a great grandson, Keaton. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Janice Iman and a grandson, Terry Fritz.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville with the Rev. Dr. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
