Doris I. (Walter) Heacock, 82, of Green lane, passed away Thursday, June 07, 2018 at home. She was the widow of Robert M. Alderfer and the companion of the late Richard E. Heacock.
Born in Sumneytown, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Annie (Schwager) Walter.
She was an assembler for various companies, worked at Schumacher Orchards in Milford and was the former Program Director of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center retiring in 1962.
Doris was a member of Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ in Bechtelsville where she was a member of the Friend for Life program. She was also a member of the North Penn Clown Alley where she would bring joy to many as Daisy the clown.
Surviving are her children, Linda L., wife of Gary Rutherford of Green Lane and Robin M., wife of Charles Rhoads, Jr; four grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; four great-granddaughter; and her sister, June Ott of Collegeville.
She was predeceased by her son, Charles N. Christman; her daughter, Doris A. Linzy; brothers, Francis Walter, William Troxell, James Walter; Half-brother, Kirk Walter and half-sister, Katie Fiterick.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories.
