Doris M. (Watts) Gaugler, 78, widow of Joseph F. Gaugler, Jr., of Penny Road, Sumneytown, PA died Sunday, August 30, 2009 in her home.
Born in Souderton, PA she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Katie (Wentling) Watts.
She was employed as a supervisor at Harleysville Insurance Company for over 30 years retiring in 1993.
She was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ and loved the Phillies, flowers and animals.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna M. (Gaugler) Faust of Hereford, PA; a brother-in-law, Bill Stoudt of Souderton, PA, a sister-in-law, Betty Watts of Telford, PA and a cousin and sister-in-law, Rose (Miller) Gaugler of Delaware. Along with her husband and parents she is predeceased by a sister, Betty Stoudt and a brother, Edwin Watts, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Frieden’s United Church of Christ, 1011 Church Road, Sumneytown, PA with the Rev. Cheryl A. Stoneback officiating. Interment is in Frieden’s Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday morning at the church prior to the funeral service. Funeral arrangements are by the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Frieden’s United Church of Christ, P O Box 268, Sumneytown, PA 18084.
