Donald Weinsteiger

June 21, 1931 — March 5, 2014

Donald F. Weinsteiger, 82, of Bechtelsville, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Manor Care Health Services of Sinking Spring. He was the husband of Myrtle M. (Kriebel) Weinsteiger celebrating 60 years of marriage on June 15th.

Born in New Berlinville, he was a son of the late George and Jennie (Moyer) Weinsteiger.

He was employed as the Head Custodian at Boyertown School District for 15 years retiring in 1994. Prior to that he worked at Bally Block Co. for 20 years and Rayflex in Allentown.

Donald was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association, Bally Gun Club and Bechtelsville Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, three children, Gerald Weinsteiger and wife, Denise of Reading, David Weinsteiger and wife, Ann of New Castle, DE and Christine Neiman of New Berlinville; a brother, Leonard Weinsteiger of New Berlinville; six grandchildren, Jason, Melissa, Dustin and wife, Candace, Alyssa, Rachael and Adam and two great granddaughters, Hailey and Samantha. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Ralph; two sisters, Mary Strunk and Helen Roshong and a grandson, Scott.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Monsignor Edward J. Coyle officiating. Burial follows in Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
