Donald Lee Wardle, 76, of Hereford, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Quakertown.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Howard Wardle and Lillian (Hetrick) Smoll.
Donald was a graduate of Upper Perk High School and served in the U.S. National Guard Reserves.
Donald owned and operated the former Chevron Gas Station in Red Hill; worked as the Plant Manager at the former Brown Printing; and in Maintenance for Montgomery County Parks.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg.
Donald was a national-level Trap Shooter and was active at several guns clubs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cars throughout his life. Donald was a broadly skilled mechanic and self-taught engineer.
He will be sadly missed by his two children; Brian Wardle and wife, Cecelia of Lexington, MA and Michele, wife of Emre Tezduyar of Framingham, MA; a step-brother, Dennis Kline of East Greenville; four grandchildren, Alexandra, Annabella, Patara and Zeybek; and his former wife, Geraldine Wardle.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, 1244 St. Paul’s Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. Wayne Shelor officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, at the church prior to the service at the graveside.
