Donald R. “Don” Boorse, 68, husband of Elsa B. (Bougher) Boorse, of Barto, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Edward R. and Dorothy C. (Stoneback) Boorse.
Don worked at Nice Ball Bearing, Kulpsville, for 32 years as a machine repairman.
He was a member of the Ford Econoline Club in California.
Don was an avid gardner, carpenter, cabinet maker, and mechanic, with incredible wood working skills. He loved to cook and was a great teacher. Don was always there when anyone needed him and always put others before himself.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years and children, John Boorse and his wife, Susann, of Meridian, ID and Jennifer, wife of Matthew Holmes, of Winston Salem, NC; siblings, Robert Boorse and his wife, Bernice of Lansdale, Gail Worman, Colorado, Sonia, wife of Al Williamson of Barto, Judy, wife of Dennis Urfer of Boyertown, Gerald Boorse and his wife, Nancy of Souderton, Daryl Boorse and his wife, Cathy of North Wales and Gawain Boorse of Florida and 3 grandchildren Gabriel, Abigail and Alexandria. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Lewis.
