Derek Robert Smith, 26, of Pennsburg, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Grand View Hospital.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he is the son of Florence H. “Flossy” (Buckwalter) Lee of Pennsburg with whom he resided and Howard I. Smith of Houlton, Maine.
He was a 2004 graduate of Brandywine High School and currently a student at Welder Training School in Allentown.
Surviving along with his mother and father are his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth, wife of Louis Joiner of Rockhall, Maryland; a sister, Jamie L. Smith of Wernersville; two brothers, Matthew B. Lobaugh and fiancée, Michelle of Pennsburg and Travis J. Lobaugh and fiancée, Lisa of Delaware; two nieces, Taylor and Jessica Lobaugh and three nephews, Andrew Nungesser and Khalif and Kieandre Cade. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, James W. Buckwalter.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Share memories and offer condolences to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
