Deborah (Higgins) Scholl, 69, of East Greenville, PA, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 after a battle with a long illness. Her family and her belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was the loving wife of Harvey W. Scholl, Jr., and together they shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Doris Mae (Mangold) Higgins and the step-daughter of Evelyn (Walsko) Higgins.
Debbie was a 1972 graduate of Upper Dublin High School and then attended Chestnut Hill Hospital earning a degree as a Radiology Technologist. She then went on to earn an Associates degree in Nursing from Montgomery County Community College. Debbie devoted her life to helping others as she worked as a registered nurse for many years, starting as an OB delivery nurse at Grand View Hospital and then working as the school nurse in the Upper Perkiomen School district and eventually retiring from PA Virtual in 2022 due to her illness. She loved being a mom and grandmother (Grammy/Bammy/Gee) more than anything, as family is what she cherished most in life. She loved supporting her children in their sports endeavors. She was a founding member and travel coordinator for the X-Calibur Field Hockey Club in Pottstown and also assisted in the founding of the Stix Club in the Upper Perkiomen School District.
A woman of deep faith, Debbie was also a founding member and active parishioner of Church of the Holy Spirit in Harleysville where she took pride in being the head of the Sacristy team.
She loved animals, particularly dogs and she loved spending time at the beach, especially Ocean City, New Jersey. She also found joy in opening her home and hosting family and friends; she could make the best charcuterie board and crab cakes. More than anything, Debbie was a selfless, supportive woman, whose love and life made a difference to all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Gregory Scholl (Teresa), Melissa Furey (Patrick) and Kaitlyn Scholl; six step-children, Ellen Floyd (Walter), Annmarie McShea (James), Harvey Scholl (Laurie), Daniel Scholl, David Scholl (Debora) and Rebekah Scholl; 14 grandchildren, Ryan (Larisa), David, Caroline, Patrick, Kathryn, Taehan, Brigid, Martin, Parker, Max, Abigail, Hadley, Carlie and William; one great-granddaughter, Meredith; and her brother, R. Scott Higgins. She is predeceased by an infant brother, Jeffrey R. Higgins.
