David P. Weaver, 72, husband of Lucille J. (Steinman) Barnes Weaver and the late Roberta M. (Tubbs) Weaver, of Allentown, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at home.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harry and Mildred (Ziegenfus) Weaver.
He was a 1960 graduate of Trevorton High School, Trevorton, PA, where he received his Mechanic Training Certificate.
David worked as a Diesel Mechanic for various trucking firms in the Lehigh Valley for many years before retiring.
He was a member of the Missionary Church of Allentown and attended New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ of East Greenville.
David enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and was meticulous in everything he did and accomplished.
Surviving along with his wife of 3 years are his children, Jane Kent of Gowanda, NY; Paula Balliet of Coplay, PA and a step-son, Timothy Barnes and his wife, Gina; four grandchildren, Elissa; Spenser; Jordan; and Lauren; two step-grandchildren, Cameron and Anneliese and his furry companion, Mary Jane.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. There will be a viewing from 7pm to 8:30pm Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA and from 10am to 11am Friday at the church.
