Danielle I. Koury Parker, 71, of Barto, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at home.
Born in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Irene (Bosak) Koury. She was also the loving wife to Jon Parker and mother to Jonathan and Koury Parker.
Danielle was a highly respected Speech-Language Pathologist, an award winning equestrian, as well as a treasured friend and wonderful wife and mother. Other professionals often sought out her advice, as did others in her life. She made a difference in the lives of many people and lived with integrity, confidence and joy.
Danielle earned a PhD from Northwestern University in the field of Communication Disorders, a Master’s of Science from SUNY Geneseo and a Bachelor’s Degree from Bloomsburg University. She worked at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center for the last 11 years of her career. Prior to that, she worked for an organization that provided speech-language services in nursing homes, clinics, hospitals and individual homes throughout the United States. She was known for her high level of competence, care for her clients and their families and her ability to mentor other professionals.
In addition to her husband of 50 years and her children, she is survived by her brother, Philip Koury.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA 19503 with Father Adam Sedar officiating. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service. An interment service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Pottsville, PA at 11:00 AM.
