Daniel H. Kratz, 71, husband of Sarah (Buehrle) Kratz, of Schoolhouse Road, East Greenville, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA. He and his wife celebrated 41 years of marriage on November 2, 1968.
Born in Milford Township, PA, he was the son of the late Solomon K. and Lillian (Geissinger) Kratz.
He worked 29 years as a carpenter at Merck & Co., West Point, PA retiring in 1998. After retiring he drove for the Gross School Bus Company for 10 years.
He was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and a life member of the Milford Township Fire Company.
Surviving along with his wife are his 4 children, Jeffery A. Kratz and his wife, Cindy of Brunswick, GA, Donna J., wife of Paul Sell of Hellertown, PA, Diana L. Kress of Pennsburg, PA and Kenneth R. Kratz and his wife, Tammi of Schwenksville, PA; 3 sisters, Stella Bauman and Mae Mease of Quakertown, PA and Mary Ann, wife of Arlan Moyer of Pflugerville, TX; 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Monica and Clinton; foster grandchildren, Christopher and Anthony and faithful K-9 companion, Libby.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Homer E. Royer, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to New Goshenhoppen U.C.C. or the Leukemia Society, 5100 Tilghman Street, Suite 40, Allentown, PA 18104.
The Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville is in charge of the arrangements.
