Clarence M. Leister, Jr., 91, of Palm, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Pennsburg Manor.
He was the husband of Grace V. (Renninger) Leister, celebrating 70 years of marriage on September 16, 2014.
Born in Corning, PA, he was a son of the late Clarence S. and Helen M. (Miller) Leister.
Clarence was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He then was a bricklayer for 42 years and also was a co-owner of Leister and Schmoyer Bricklayers in Palm, PA for many years retiring in 1988.
He was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church, and a member of the East Greenville Fire Company and the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center in East Greenville.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, four children, Rev. Larry D. Leister and wife, Lois of Lititz, Sandra J. DeLong of East Greenville, Patrice C. Henry and husband, Ronald of Pennsburg and Jewel L. Mack and husband, Daniel of Pennsburg; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Dennis J. Leister, a sister, Jean Gressley and a grandson, Daniel Mack.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Larry D. Leister officiating. Burial follows in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Old Zionsville. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 until 11 am Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
