Clair F. Whary, 71, husband of Grace I “Rene” (Harpel) Whary, of East Greenville, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.
Born in Gowen City, he was a son of the late Daniel and Susan (Engle) Whary and step-son of Dorothy (Morris) Whary who raised him.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam.
He was a delivery truck driver for CCC Heavy Duty Truck Parts Co. in Bethlehem. Prior to that he worked in maintenance at Palmer International in Skippack and then for Teleflex in Limerick.
Surviving along with his wife are two children, Lisa A. Treffinger and husband, Alan F. of East Greenville and Jeff D. Whary and wife, Maryellen of Hereford; siblings, Betty Latshaw of Shamokin, Lamar Whary and wife, Ethel of Glenmore, Paul Whary and wife, Sandy of Shamokin, Judy Neumeister of Ashland, Jayne Lenig and husband, John of Shamokin and Richard Miller of Shamokin; and four grandchildren, Brendan and Connor Treffinger and Tyler and Luke Whary. Along with his parents and step-mother, he is predeceased by twin granddaughters Taylor and Emma Whary and a sister Laura Grimmer.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Pastor Sandy Whary officiating.
